My name is Ryan Fioretti and I am a student at the University of Texas at El Paso and I am also on the golf team. I am a sophmore this year and majoring in business management. I have created this site to show my skills as a writer after taking Workplace Writing. The tabs have each of my writings that I have done this semester.

Throughout elementary, middle school, high school, and college I have found myself to be very imaginative and come up with some interesting things to write about. In high school we had to take the taks test and the english part was the easiest for me because we had to write a story on a certain prompt that was given to us. It would take me about five minutes to come up with what I was going to write about and after that I was off writing a story and the only problem I had was ending the story because I could go on and on. As good as a writer that I thought I was, I found out after taking this class that there was still alot that I didn't know and need to learn.

The First assignment was the resume and application letter which was very tough for me to do because I had never written up a resume or sent in and application letter so I had no idea what needed to be put into them. What helped out was being able to do a rough draft and post it to my business team members and have the read and revise which I thought was a big help and got to know alot more about what need to be in them. Next assignment was the persuasive letter which came very easy to me because I had many opinions of changes that should be made at my job. I was able to come up with a very persuasive letter to send to my boss in which I think that if he were to read it, he would easily agree and make the changes.
The third assignment was the case analysis report and powerpoint. This was a interesting assignment because it tought me how to write a good research paper and also how to create a powerpoint to go along with it.

After taking this class I have learned how to apply my skills in life and as a writer to create resumes, application letters, persuasive letters and case studies and powerpoints. I have also learned that it is very important to make rough drafts and get other peoples opinions on my writings. If I hadn't of gotten revision, my papers would not have been as good.

I would like to thank the members of my business team and Dr. Evelyn Posey for helping me become a better writer which I will need later on in life when entering the business world.

Dear Mr. McKinley:

Since I have worked here for over 2 years now I have seen how things are done here and I have a proposal in which I think will make the closing and opening duties more efficient for the workers.

When working in the mornings I have noticed that we always have to rush to get everything done because we have to wash each golf cart before we bring them out. The busiest part of the day is in the morning until noon which is the opening shift. My proposal is that we move the washing of the carts to the closing shift. My reason for this is because during the closing shift towards the end of the day things start to die down and we have more time on our hand. I think that we can use that time that we have to wash the carts as we are putting them up. Lately the members have been complaining about the bag boys not being on the ramp in the mornings to get their clubs and load them on a golf cart and also that there are no golf carts. I think by doing this we will be able to get the opening duties done and tend to the members needs without having any problems and we will not have to worry about constantly bringing out more carts because they will all be out. This would also give the closers more to do so that they are not sitting around towards the end of the shift and they are working for their hourly wage.

I hope that you will take into consideration my proposal and make the changes that should be made. I think this will not only help the workers but it will help the members and the pros working in the proshop.

Sincerely,

Ryan Fioretti
Bag Boy
